A Career Built on Compassion and Service

Chris began his healthcare journey as a Physical Therapist Assistant, gaining firsthand experience in a wide range of therapeutic settings — from home health care and outpatient rehab to orthopedics and long-term care facilities. His deep understanding of patient needs and treatment outcomes has shaped every part of his professional path.


But long before he was serving patients, Chris was serving his country. A proud U.S. Air Force veteran, he spent eight years in service, including during Desert Shield and Desert Storm between 1990 and 1998. That discipline, commitment, and sense of duty continue to define how he leads today — with integrity, grit, and a deep concern for the well-being of others.


Shifting Focus: From Treatment to Advocacy

By 2007, Chris found himself moving from direct care into a more specialized role — as a Durable Medical Equipment Specialist. He began working closely with long-term care facilities, offering diabetic footwear, contracture management splints, and custom seating systems. This transition wasn’t just about changing careers — it was about advocating for patients in a different, but equally meaningful way.


What Chris quickly learned was that patients weren’t always receiving the equipment they needed. Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers were becoming increasingly restrictive, leaving individuals without access to crucial medical tools that would improve their day-to-day lives. For Chris, watching those denials come in — after spending time, energy, and compassion advocating for his clients — was both frustrating and unacceptable.


The Birth of Med X Change, LLC

Fueled by that frustration and driven by a desire to provide better options, Chris founded Med X Change, LLC in July 2010. The goal was simple but ambitious: create a full-service DME company that could deliver new and refurbished medical equipment directly to customers — at a fraction of the cost they’d pay through traditional insurance channels.


With Med X Change, Chris built more than a company — he created a solution. By sourcing, servicing, and distributing high-quality medical equipment outside of the limitations of insurance, the company now helps people across the Saint Charles, MO area gain access to the products they need, when they need them — without the red tape.


Why It Matters

Chris didn’t start Med X Change because it was easy — he started it because it was necessary. In an industry where patients are often told “no,” he wanted to be the person saying, “Yes, we can help.” That mission still drives the company today.


With over 20 years of hands-on experience in patient care, Chris brings unmatched expertise to the DME world. But even more than that, he brings empathy. He knows what it feels like to fight for their care — and now he’s created a business that fights alongside them.
